I was told that my child needs to be tested and examined for hyper activity and attention problems. The doctors want to prescribe drugs for my child to help him focus, pay attention and be able to sit still. My child is a very active, energetic, creatively smart child. There is nothing wrong with him. I am not putting him on drugs.
You are sooo right! Medicating your child, in many cases, will only cause problems. Your child’s individual needs and learning styles are not being addressed, much less met, by the “teachers” at the schools, in the classroom.

I am very happy to hear that you will not cave into the pressure of others suggesting you use harmful substances in order to make your child more “manageable”. My son is three years old and is also very active and very energetic, however he is also so smart and curious….the last daycare facility that he had been attending for 2 years had suggested that because of his increased energy she would suggest I have him “seen to” by a “knowledgable physician” in order to “curb his mannerisms”!!! Are you kidding me?…I walked, I’ve since then found a very loving and patient environment for him to be in that indulges his creativity and those little moody quirks he’s had have only improved…children need to be challenged, especially the gifted ones, good luck!!
